Dr John Ling

It was a privilege, recently, to join in serving Kesgrave as a Town Councillor. In taking up this role, I bring to the team experience in education, having taught and led in a range of secondary schools since 1991. Alongside teaching, I have developed written and digital resources, including widely published GCSE materials on climate and sustainability. I have also been involved in many team sports, as both a player and a coach. I enjoy being part of Kesgrave Park Run. I have broad experience working with charities promoting faith–science dialogue through writing and public speaking, as well as additional experience with charities addressing other social need. Earlier in my career, I qualified as an engineer, served as a company director in engineering and property, and held a principal research scientist role at British Steel, contributing there to product innovation. Throughout my career, I have been involved in policy and governance discussions, including about schools, industry, and at Suffolk County Council. As part of the Town Council, I hope to use this experience to serve the Kesgrave community effectively.
